building my own house after years finally got planning , this was difficult to explain to the planners as it will have straw bale walls & lime render, no mains electric just solar ,hand split oak shingles/shakes on the roof, planners seem to favour concrete walls tiles etc etc lol, but with a lot of help from freinds who wrote to the planners in support they agreed, trees are from a forest close by & new saplings are allready 6 months into growth so no harm done { stairs handrail is going to be fun to figure out }
