Had the opportunity to drag the wife and kids around (actually my wife's idea).
What a place, if you have any interest in how these historic buildings were built, this is the place to go.
Having never been completed, you can see the many layers of work that are involved, from the stone and brick work, lime-based coats, and the glass like finish on Lime top coat.
A room that stood out to me was the game larder, we visited on a hot day and it was still the coolest room in the building, even back then they knew how important building ventilation was and how to use it effectively, something that has been lost in construction these days.
