Wishing Beth, Ellie and Ella good luck as they head off to university.

Beth has just completed her placement year with us and is heading off to Lancaster University to study Nuclear Engineering. As part of the React Futures Programme, Beth will be joining us again each summer until graduation, with the opportunity to join us as a graduate after completing her degree.

Reflecting on her year with us, Beth said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my year at React; the supportive environment has helped me grow my confidence and develop new skills and I am very grateful for everyone who has supported me throughout the year."

Ellie and Ella are heading into Year 3 of the React Futures programme, having completed their year in industry with us, as well as their first summer placement with React.

React Futures is a fantastic programme which gives students the opportunity to gain valuable, paid industry experience, alongside their university studies, while developing their engineering skills and building confidence in a professional environment.

This week we welcomed our final Year 10 work experience student of the year, Jamie Pyne from Workington Academy.

Jamie spent the week working on his project 'Tank Decommissioning Project', where he was given a problem statement and challenged to develop a solution using techniques such as optioneering.

With support from Beth and James, Jamie worked hard throughout the week to develop his ideas and today presented his findings to some of our engineers. His project was well researched and detailed and he did an excellent job answering all the questions put to him.

Jamie said he found his week at React "rewarding" and its been a pleasure to have him in our office. Well done Jamie 👏🏼

It was fantastic to be involved in yesterday’s launch day for the WAGR Grand Challenge.

Over the last 18 months, React has led on developing a strategy for the acceleration of decommissioning and demolition of the WAGR Complex. Seeing the strategy agreed and ready to move into delivery is a significant milestone.

The launch day brought together over 120 people and give us the opportunity alongside Sellafield Ltd, A2R and the supply chain to share the vision, strategy and most importantly, build the relationships that will make this Grand Challenge a success.

It was a great opportunity to understand everyone’s roles, exchange ideas and begin collaborating as one integrated team.

We are excited to move into the next phase, bringing together the experience and expertise of one integrated team which will be key to delivering the Grand Challenge successfully.

This week marks six months since we moved into The Flaxworks. 🎉

Looking back at these before and after photos, its amazing to see just how much the building has changed. Before the renovation began, the building was completely derelict and rundown, making the transformation even more worthwhile. It's fantastic to be part of the journey of bringing a once abandoned building back to life.

It's also been great to see FLAX by TEGretail open it's doors and to welcome Prima Uno Limited and clearnorth. to the building.

The last six months have flown by and we're looking forward to what's next!
