We’ve just started work at Doreward’s Hall in Bocking, Essex, a Grade II* listed manor house with late medieval origins.

We’re working alongside Bakers of Danbury on this project, carrying out carefully considered loft insulation using sheep’s wool insulation, chosen for its natural breathability and suitability for traditional and listed buildings. This approach improves the building’s thermal performance while preserving its historic character and fabric.

Today’s Project – Walton-on-the-Naze

Today we carried out a cavity wall extraction in Walton-on-the-Naze. Before installing Knauf Supafil blown mineral fibre insulation, it’s essential to remove all rubble, mortar droppings, and debris from the cavity. On this property alone, we managed to remove 9 bags of rubble from the cavity, highlighting just how important proper preparation is before installing new insulation.

A clean cavity ensures the insulation performs as intended, improving energy efficiency, reducing heat loss, and helping to prevent moisture bridging.

We recently completed a removal of spray foam insulation from a customer’s loft in Colchester. The homeowner was previously unaware that over time, spray foam can contribute to timber rot and will impact resale. After carefully removing the foam, we reinsulated the loft using knauf Loft Roll , restoring the space to a properly ventilated, compliant condition.

Today’s job in Capel St Mary.

We removed the old loft insulation and installed 3 layers of Knauf insulation (450mm total) to maximise thermal performance.
All existing insulation was fully removed to ensure the new system works at peak efficiency.
