Our Standard Bund range provides proven spill containment solutions, with options to tailor individual units to suit customer requirements.

Our team recently manufactured a batch of SG107 and SG108 spill containment bunds, with the customers opting for a yellow finish.

Each bund is manufactured using chemical-resistant resin and reinforced for additional strength, with 38mm GRP grating helping to distribute loads evenly when storing IBCs.

At SGI Composites, we manufacture bespoke filament wound GRP pipes, engineered to suit individual project requirements including diameter, pressure rating, resin system and process media.

Our in-house filament winding capability also allows us to incorporate flanges, nozzles, reducers and other specials, providing corrosion-resistant pipework designed for long-term performance in demanding environments.

We're recruiting two Composites Technician Apprentices to join the team at SGI Composites.

This is an opportunity to earn while you learn, working alongside experienced technicians to manufacture high-performance GRP and FRP composite solutions for customers across infrastructure, water, rail, construction and industry. The three-year Level 3 apprenticeship combines hands-on experience at our Colchester facility with one day a week at Colchester Institute.

At SGI Composites, we're committed to developing talent from within. In fact, several of our senior team members, including our Operations Manager, Production Manager and Technical Specialist, began their careers as trainees.

Congratulations to Charley on 13 years with SGI Composites!

Over the past 13 years, Charley has taken quite the journey.

Starting out supporting our Stores Manager before taking on the role himself, he quickly became known for keeping a close eye on every nut, bolt and roll of mat that came through the factory. It might not have made him everyone's favourite person at the time, but his attention to detail certainly made a difference.

That same dedication led to a move into Finance, where Charley has progressed to Finance Manager and become an integral part of the SGI team.

It's always rewarding to see people develop their careers within the business, and Charley is a great example of that.

Congratulations on reaching this milestone, Charley. Thank you for your hard work, commitment and everything you've contributed over the last 13 years. Here's to the next chapter!

A small structure doesn't always mean a simple project.

Projects like wash-down stations can appear straightforward, but they're often shaped by existing infrastructure, operational constraints, maintenance requirements and the need to minimise disruption during installation.

The result is rarely an off-the-shelf solution. It requires careful design to ensure the finished structure is practical, durable and easy to use throughout its service life.

Our recent project with Ringway is a good example. Working closely with the client, SGI designed and manufactured four bespoke GRP wash-down stations with integrated access platforms, delivering a solution tailored to the site's operational requirements.
