Practical on one side, written work on the other. 👇
Last week, we installed 8 bespoke Craftwork benches for the D&T department at Trentham Academy, designed around exactly how their lessons are taught.
Each 2400 x 1200mm bench features three woodworking vices along one side, with the opposite side kept completely clear.
The idea is simple: during written work, students sit facing the teaching wall with more space and no vices to distract them. When it’s time for practical work, they move to the opposite side of the bench where all three vices are ready to use.
A small design change, but one that makes a big difference to how the classroom works.
