Another major milestone for Congleton Hydro - and for sustainable engineering.

Since launching in Autumn 2021, the Congleton Hydro Scheme has now generated 1GWh of green electricity.

☕ That’s enough energy to boil water for 20 million cups of tea!

🔋 And it represents a carbon emissions saving of approximately 500,000kg of CO₂!

The renewable energy generated at Havannah Weir on the River Dane continues to help power the Siemens factory in Congleton - supporting our long-standing partner on its journey towards Net Zero.
