⚙ Mill Bearings repair ⚙

🛠 We repaired two large Mill Bearings (Trunnion Slippers) for a UK power station. The bearings were for Ø69" (1.75m) and Ø78" (1.98m) shafts.

These bearings had the integral cooling system replaced and were fully overhauled. The white metal was cast using a static/gravity casting technique, using approximately 900kg of white metal alloy.

The M Series thrust bearing (or Modular Thrust Bearing) is a non-equalising, modular design of tilt pad thrust bearing assembly.

✅ Being modular, the product range can be offered over a wide range of sizes.
✅ It utilises 6, 8, 11 or 14 thrust pads in each assembly.
✅ The assembly can be supplied split or made from a one-piece retaining ring.
✅ Typically bearings are supplied for use in both directions of rotation utilising centre pivoted thrust pads.
✅ Higher load capacity can be achieved using offset pivots and making the bearing assembly uni-directional.

⚙️ The M series thrust bearing can be manufactured by KCEB for shaft diameters from 75mm (3”) up to 500mm (20”).

The T Series tilt pad journal bearings are 5 pad bearings that can be operated as load on pad or load between pad.

⚙️ They are manufactured from precision machined carbon steel housings, steel backed journal pads and typically aluminium end covers.
⚙️ Indirect and direct lubrication can be used with T series journal bearings.
⚙️ We can offer bearings either machined ready for thermal sensor installation or already fitted with thermal sensors to suit your requirements.
