A new chapter has begun for our latest group of engineering apprentices at OAS!

Our new starters include apprentices joining our Mechatronics and Engineering Manufacturing Technician programmes, all beginning the next stage of their engineering careers.

We're also proud to share that 17 women have enrolled across our Level 3 Engineering and Level 2 Nuclear programmes this year, highlighting the growing number of women choosing careers in engineering and manufacturing.

We look forward to supporting this cohort as they develop their skills and gain industry experience throughout their apprenticeship journey.

A week ago, we officially opened the doors to MTC Training Tyneside.

Looking back at the launch, what stands out most isn't the building itself. It's the people who came together to make it possible.

From employers and industry partners to learners, stakeholders and colleagues, the event showcased the power of collaboration and a shared commitment to developing skills across the North East.

We're grateful to everyone who joined us to mark this important milestone, including our partners at Lloyds, whose continued support is helping us expand access to high-quality training and apprenticeship opportunities in the region.

While the launch was a proud moment, it's only the beginning.

We're excited to support more learners in developing in-demand skills, help employers strengthen their workforce, and work alongside businesses to support growth across the North East for years to come.

Today we officially opened MTC Training Tyneside 🎉

The most valuable part of today isn't the building. It's the people coming together inside it.

Today, we've welcomed employers, industry partners, stakeholders, learners and colleagues to MTC Training Tyneside to explore how we can work together to develop skills, strengthen local talent pipelines and support future growth across the North East.

It's been great to see conversations already taking place with a shared focus on developing the skills needed for the future.

We're looking forward to an exciting afternoon of centre tours, workshop demonstrations and networking as we continue building relationships with organisations across the region.

Only 2 days to go until we officially open our new training centre in Tyneside!

We are incredibly proud to expand our presence in a region that combines a rich industrial heritage with a very exciting future.

Our hope is that this centre becomes a vital hub where local businesses connect with fresh talent, apprentices launch rewarding careers, and individuals gain the essential skills to drive manufacturing and engineering forward.

Above all, we can't wait to become an active part of the local community and build strong relationships with the brilliant SMEs at the heart of the North East economy.

Six months of hard work showcased at the IMECHE Automation Challenge Finals 🚀

After six months of development, our apprentices recently attended the IMECHE Automation Challenge Finals Day at AMTC to present their prototype, G-Eco.

Designed as a domestic 3D printing filament recycler, G-Eco was created to help give waste material a new purpose and support more sustainable 3D printing practices.

As part of the challenge, teams pitched their ideas to industry judges, explored other innovative projects, and connected with apprentices from across the UK.

While we didn't take home the top prize this time, the experience provided valuable opportunities to develop presentation skills, receive feedback from industry professionals, and learn from other talented teams.

We're incredibly proud of the commitment, creativity and teamwork shown throughout the project.

Well done to everyone involved! 👏
