Congratulations to Ben Middleton on being named our August Apprentice of the Month! ๐Ÿ‘

Ben was recognised for volunteering to deliver a VIP tour of the training centre at short notice, confidently showcasing both his work and the skills he has developed through his apprenticeship.

His professionalism, willingness to step forward, and ability to represent both Amazon and MTC Training made a lasting impression on our visitors.

Well done, Ben, and thank you for being a fantastic ambassador for apprenticeship training ๐ŸŽ‰

From empty rooms to industrial robots...

When you're building a new training centre, it's the milestones along the way that make the vision feel real.

One of those moments happened this week as six FANUC industrial robot training cells were delivered to our new Tyneside training centre ๐Ÿค–

These systems will form part of our automation training provision, giving learners the opportunity to work with industrial robotics in a dedicated training environment.

There's still plenty to do, but seeing the space evolve and the equipment arrive is bringing the centre to life and getting everyone excited for what's to come.

We'll be sharing more updates as we continue the journey towards opening the centre โš’๏ธ

Could your household receive extra support for an apprenticeship?

A new Household Apprenticeship Bursary is expected to provide up to ยฃ4,500 per year for some households receiving Universal Credit where a young person's move into an apprenticeship reduces household income.

Final funding amounts and eligibility details are expected to be confirmed in due course, but the announcement represents another step towards making apprenticeships more accessible for young people.

For many apprentices, it's an opportunity to earn, learn and build valuable skills in industry while working towards a recognised qualification.

Keep an eye on future updates as more details are confirmed!

An ageing workforce. Valuable knowledge at risk of being lost.

For DMG MORI UK, apprenticeships are part of the solution.

In our latest case study, Managing Director Steve Finn explains why investing in young talent isn't just about filling vacancies, it's about passing on decades of expertise and developing the future leaders of the business.

From being impressed by our facilities and professional approach to seeing apprentices grow through the company's culture, Steve shares why developing talent from within has become such an important part of their workforce strategy.

And when asked about one of their current apprentices? He said he'd love to see him sitting in his chair one day.

Why do employers hire apprentices?

For this employer, it's about more than recruitment.

It's about passing on years of skills and experience to the next generation.

And in return?

Apprentices bring enthusiasm, fresh ideas and a fun energy that can have a positive impact across the workplace.

Engineering roles are evolving.

Employers now seek adaptable, problem-solving individuals skilled across various technologies and processes.

Multi-skilled engineers are in demand. From understanding mechanical systems to using digital tools, today's workforce needs broader capabilities.

The key question for employers: How to build these skills?

Apprenticeships and upskilling courses are vital, developing new talent and enhancing existing ones.

Resilient businesses invest in both, preparing their workforce for the future๐Ÿ’ก

Who will carry the knowledge forward?

Across engineering and manufacturing, a large number of experienced engineers are approaching retirement.

That means decades of practical knowledge risk walking out of the door. Skills you donโ€™t learn from a manual.

Apprenticeships create a direct link between generations.

They give experienced engineers the chance to pass on what theyโ€™ve learned, while developing someone who can apply it day to day.

Many employers are already using apprenticeships as part of their succession planning and skills strategy.

Itโ€™s not just about bringing in new people.

Itโ€™s about keeping knowledge in the business.
