Throughout the summer, the Leaping Wing team carries out thermographic inspections of solar PV installations, using thermal imaging to detect electrical faults and inefficiencies.

But sometimes it’s what we see on the visible camera which tells a story. We could see heavy dust accumulation that was severely affecting panel output, and physical impact damage to multiple panels - some of them have clearly been hit by something heavy! Neither of these issues had been previously reported by the site operator.

Our dual-sensor aerial surveys give asset owners a complete picture of their installation's condition, quickly and without operational disruption.

☀️ Sunday mornings don't get much better than this!

We were up bright and early to film Tesco's stunning new solar PV setup at their Pontarddulais store. Filming a 24-hour store always takes a bit of planning, but an early Sunday slot — combined with beautiful weather — made this one an absolute joy to capture.

It's always rewarding to help showcase the green investments businesses are making, and the aerial footage really does the installation justice. 🎥🚁

Recently our QC processes showed up some serious issues with co-ordinate system transformations in the most commonly used LiDAR first-stage processing platform, DJI Terra. We’re at Livelink Aerospace in Hampshire this week for cohort 2 of their GVC training, and these engineers will be keeping Michael and Iain on their toes with their wealth of knowledge and experience.

We recently completed an aerial roof survey for a client who needed to assess corrosion damage on a large structure that was inaccessible without specialist rope equipment.

Using our drone technology, we delivered 100% roof coverage with high-resolution imagery within 48 hours, at a much lower cost and without the disruption of traditional access methods. Our desktop inspection also identified heavy contamination of the solar PV array, providing the client with a clear picture of the full scope of remedial works required.
