Meet Tom Clay!

Our fourth year apprentice, who is currently completing his HNC in CNC Programming and Machining.

Starting his journey at ISSPE back in 2022, Tom has found the work extremely interesting and likes seeing how a piece of raw material can be machined into a high quality finished product.

He hopes to learn and develop further before completing his qualification next year!

For National Engineering Week 2026, we joined our talented engineer Chris, as he manually machined one 20” Serrated Plain End Hose Tails - Carbon Steel, from start to finish. With many more to go, and part of a batch order, we wanted to highlight both the technical skills and attention to detail that is required to complete a hose tail (and many other projects!) for one of our customers.

We are proud of our entire team and grateful for the skills they continue to display. Well done 👏

ISSPE Manual CNC Machinist, who has been with ISS Precision since 2020.

A machinist all his life, Stuart began his career as an apprentice and served his time as a fitter and manual turner, learning the trade inside out before progressing to CNC machining.

Stuart shared that he ‘enjoys working alongside a good team with good banter and support’

Say Hello to Chris! Machine Shop Supervisor for ISS Precision Engineering.

Chris started with us back in August 2013 as an apprentice, gaining valuable skills over the years and progressing to a supervisor role.

Chris shared that he enjoys maintaining smooth operations on the shop floor and supporting the team when needed to ensure everyone is working safely and efficiently. He also likes making sure deadlines for projects are met, and customer orders go out on time’
