Single Storey Extension & Associated Works

Another set back on this one from the off, unfortunately ground conditions wouldn't allow traditional strip footings or a raft foundation.

We dug a test hole for the structural engineer only to find that the ground conditions were made up of predominantly clay, it went back to the structural engineer for new calculations and piles were needed for this particular project.

The lads however have made good progress on this project, updates to follow in the coming weeks.

Loft Conversion carried out beginning of 2025, we had a very tight deadline on this one due to our customers expecting a new born baby at the beginning of April.

We were on time and on budget thanks to a temporary roof structure keeping everything dry in the winter months so we can carry on building in the midst of winter.

Pett project finalised,

Just the balcony glass to the flat roof to get this one signed off, we completed this one the tail end of last year but the customer wanted to hold off on the glass on the flat roof until the summer of 2025.

Huge set back on this one due to water harvesting tanks being right on the line of our new foundations, we re-located the water tanks into a soakaway in the garden, structural plans had to be recalculated and we needed up building the extension on canterlevered steels on concrete pads.

The lads once again pulled it out of the bag, showing that we will overcome problems and come up with strategic solutions.

Our social platforms unfortunately have taken a back seat over the last few months, we have been so busy over the last few months here at Clark & Hanson Construction.

Tunbridge Wells project finalised and signed off, this customer decided to take on a few of his own tasks around the new extension these consist of a new kitchen, decorating, flooring and all the hard landscaping.

If you look back at our post from November you can see the transformation and the hard work the lads have put in through the winter months to bring complete this single & double storey extension.

We are very pleased to announce that Clark & Hanson Construction Services Ltd have gained Constructionline Gold Membership Accreditation.

Constructionline Gold membership means that we have gone through a number of further validation checks using an enhanced prequalification questionnaire that goes beyond PAS91. Constructionline assesses a company’s credentials for environmental management, quality management, equal opportunities, modern slavery act adherence, anti-bribery and corruption policies. Some of these policies form part of the Cabinet Office Selection Questionnaire (SQ), which the public sector is expected to comply with.

As well as enhanced prequalification, all gold members are assessed for SSIP. Our Acclaim team is accredited to assess and award ‘Deemed to Satisfy’ SSIP certificates for health and safety. Gold membership goes beyond PAS91 by using an enhanced prequalification questionnaire for added assurance.

Maidstone Project Completed ✔️

All done and dusted on this one for the time being, huge effort from the team on this one, every single staff member had their own part on this one.

Super self-sufficient home now with a complex solar install along with a top of the range ASHP.

Our customers are exceptionally happy with the outcome and have invited us back for phase 2 in spring 2025.

Pett project update

This particular project has been delayed due to water harvesting tanks being uncovered under the existing conservatory that no one had picked up on.

This meant it had to go back to the structural engineer to re design the foundation layout, we now have 4 very large steel beams in the ground braced over the customers foundations to bear their new garden room and balcony.

They also have a new very large soakaway in the garden to accommodate rainwater.

The team have made great progress on this one considering the set backs.
