We’re delighted to announce planning permission has finally been granted for this project in Guildford. Our scheme focusses on replacing a detached double garage with a larger vaulted structure containing a kitchen and utility room and accessed via a link extension. The new light and spacious kitchen will open out to far reaching views and enlarged garden with outside entertaining space, previously the car parking area. To enable this, we’ve designed a new vehicular access at road level, with parking built into the slope of the site, accessed by new steps which lead from the front of the house. Other elements include various internal reconfigurations and a new boot room to the rear with a master dressing room above.

More great feedback for one of our smaller projects. For these lovely Guildford clients we designed, gained permission and also did the structural design for a simple hip-to-gable loft conversion. Allowing us to add two new bedrooms and a family bathroom to their small bungalow, more space than they originally thought possible.

More lovely feedback from these clients in Bramley who we helped transform their dated chalet bungalow on an elevated site within green belt and the Surrey Hills AONB. We designed and gained permission for this contemporary single storey side extension which houses a new sociable kitchen diner and family space that opens onto the garden.

The extension was designed to juxtapose yet complement the original house and echo traditional agricultural buildings from this area of Surrey, both in terms of shape and materials. The single open volume features large aluminium frame glazed panels set against black aluminium cladding and black metal sheet roofing. The glazed panels continue through the new porch extension, which links the old and new structures, maximising the connection to the far-reaching views beyond.

Congratulations to our clients whose planning was finally approved this week, six months after we submitted their application due to the necessary bat & tree surveys! Our sympathetic additions to this beautiful Edwardian home include two storey side, two storey rear and roof extensions along with some internal reconfiguration to accommodate the client’s growing family. All going well we hope to be on site with this project next spring.

It’s always exciting to receive project CGIs from and this one really didn’t disappoint!

Our sympathetic renovation and extensions of this 1930’s house in Guildford will look largely unchanged at the front but the rear will be barely recognisable to the original house. Significant extensions have increased the ground floor to create a generous kitchen, dining & family space opening onto a wraparound terrace. Below which we’ve created a new lower ground floor comprising of a cinema, office/ music room, gym and changing facilities.

Nothing about this project is small, with approx. 550 m2 (over 5,900 ft2) of space split over four floors, all focused on maximising the connection with outside space and the property’s far reaching views.

Now almost 16 months on site and a substantial undertaking for all involved: our clients, the main contractor and us as designer and project manager. Easily our biggest and most challenging project to date and we cannot wait to share the finished results with you!

The two storey side/ rear and single storey rear extensions will provide a large kitchen/ dining/ family space along with a new utility, shower room and study downstairs. Upstairs we’ve enlarged the family bathroom and added a new master bedroom with dressing area and en suite.
