Rotten floors, water damage — this bathroom was in a bad way. Now it's got marble wall panels, a rainfall walk-in shower, a built-in shelf and brand new flooring throughout. What a difference! 🙌

Floor collapsed ❌
Floor rebuilt properly ✅
The old installation had no damp proof membrane and dropped nearly 40mm over 6ft 😬
We stripped it back and rebuilt from scratch:
🔨 Timber frame
🛡️ Double poly protection
📏 Fully level base
🧱 Chipboard installed correctly
🪵 Oak laminate perfectly fitted
✨ Clean skirting finish ready for paint

Another full floor restoration completed ✅
The original chipboard floor was incorrectly installed — polyester insulation was placed directly onto the concrete blocks with no damp proof membrane (poly film) underneath. Over time, moisture affected the structure and the laminate flooring collapsed from the back door towards the centre of the room, leaving around 40mm level difference over a 6ft span.
We removed everything back to the base and rebuilt the floor properly:
✔️ Constructed a new timber frame structure
✔️ Installed poly film (damp proof membrane) under the frame
✔️ Fully levelled the frame for a solid base
✔️ Fitted polyester insulation between joists
✔️ Added a second poly film layer for extra protection
✔️ Installed chipboard flooring perfectly level
✔️ Laid 5mm aluminium underlay with aluminium tape on all joints
✔️ Finished with high-quality oak laminate flooring
✔️ Installed new skirting boards (with masking tape applied before & after fitting to make life easier for the painter)
Now the floor is solid, level, moisture-protected, and finished to a clean professional standard.
