We want to begin by saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages of support, concern and generosity since we shared news of the break-in. The kindness shown to Ferne in the past few days has been truly overwhelming, and it means a great deal to the whole team.

As you may have seen, sadly several vehicles and pieces of essential equipment were taken, including our pick-up truck, ATV, trailer and tools.

These are not simply items we can manage without. They are used every day to maintain the sanctuary, move equipment and supplies around the site and help our team carry out the work needed to care for the animals who rely on us. Their loss will make the team’s job considerably more difficult and will have a significant financial impact on the charity.

We will be making an insurance claim, but our fear is that there to be a considerable shortfall between what the insurance covers and the true cost of replacing everything that has been taken. While our pick-up may have been old, to us it was priceless!

Up until now, we’ve offered bulkhead cutouts with added mesh during our builds—giving you much-needed light and ventilation in the rear while keeping the bulkhead in place.

Introducing our new bulkhead cutout panels. Made on our CNC punch from 2mm aluminium and finished in a sleek satin black powder coat. Built to look and fit better.

Coming soon as a self-install kit, including:

We’ve already developed panels for:
✔️ VW Caddy
✔️ VW Transporter T6

…and we’ve got plenty more on the way.

🚨Pricing Update🚨

As we approach our accounts year-end—a time when plenty of paperwork gets shuffled—it also gives us a valuable opportunity to reflect on what’s working well and where we can improve.

We’ve reviewed our costs carefully to keep our pricing as fair and competitive as possible.

As part of this, we’ve made the decision to no longer accept card payments. After exploring all available options, fees remain consistently high, and with increasingly tight margins, we need to protect our business.

Moving forward, we will only be accepting payment via BACS, which will also help streamline our admin processes.

Unfortunately, due to current market conditions, we are experiencing significant increases in material costs, alongside rising fuel charges and additional supplier surcharges. With further administrative costs linked to upcoming regulations, we have no option but to implement a modest price increase of 5%.

For example, a typical 2-up, 2-down cage setup currently priced at around £1,950 (incl. VAT) will increase to approximately £2,050 (incl. VAT).

These changes will come into effect from **1st June**.
