Some news worth sharing: congratulations to Katie Boulter, who has just obtained her IRSE Designer Licence 👏 ⭐

Katie has spent the last few years building her skills as a trainee and assistant principles tester, and alongside that has made real progression in signalling design, developing into a well-rounded engineer.

Anyone in signalling knows what it takes to earn an IRSE licence. It reflects sustained effort, competence proven under assessment and genuine commitment.

Katie is a hugely valued member of the OSL team, and we're looking forward to supporting her as she continues to grow her experience across both design and principles testing.

Good to be back on site at Tilbury, working alongside the team at Southbay Civil Engineering as this impressive project continues to take shape.

Southbay is delivering a purpose-built dry dock and maintenance facility at the Port of Tilbury for Uber Boat by Thames Clippers, creating a new home to service its 24-vessel fleet.

For OSL, we're now nearing completion of the MEP design and getting ready for the installation and commissioning phase over the coming weeks.

It's been great to see the progress on site, particularly the temporary works for the floating platforms going in ahead of the heavy marine engineering to come, including precast concrete installation, an over-water suspended deck and dock edge capping beams.

Tilbury is a strong example of OSL's engineering capability extending beyond rail, into marine and port infrastructure, with the same approach to design assurance, coordination and dependable delivery.

Congratulations to Chris Elson, whose application for Member grade with the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) has been accepted.

Chris can now officially use the post-nominal MIRSE, recognising his professional competence, experience and commitment to the railway signalling profession. 👏

Sharing knowledge and developing the next generation of signalling engineers is an important part of our industry, making this milestone particularly fitting.

📣 We are pleased to share that OSL Global has successfully passed its latest Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) audit with no non-conformances.

RISQS is the rail industry’s recognised supplier qualification scheme, providing independent assurance that suppliers meet the standards expected across the UK rail sector.

For OSL, this reflects the systems, processes, competence management and operational controls that support safe and assured delivery across rail infrastructure projects.

This year’s audit also included the newly added Principal Contractor Licences module, alongside our annual audit scope.

Our qualification covers a wide range of product categories, reflecting the breadth of OSL’s delivery capability.

Successful weekend commissioning completed at Dagenham Dock ☑️

OSL completed the changeover, testing and commissioning of the controlling circuitry for the supplementary detection of 2251 Points, supporting Network Rail’s performance and efficiency improvement works in and around Dagenham Dock.

Delivered within a constrained access opportunity, the works mark the first commissioning activity for this programme.

A strong delivery effort from the OSL installation and testing team, with careful planning, technical control and collaborative working helping to complete the works successfully within the available access.
