This Oast had recently gone through some updating with damp proofing and replastering etc. The existing carpet was moth eaten and tired.
I used Solid Oak boards manufactured by which were installed directly onto the new chipboard sub-floor.
I used MDF skirting due to its ability to flex with the curve of the room.
Once fully installed, the floor was sanded then given 2 coats of Hard Wax Oil to really make the natural colour pop and provide great protection for years to come.

Parquet flooring restoration.
This floor had previously been stained to match a floor in an adjacent room. The colour had faded and didn’t quite match. A delivery company had also scratched the floor a few years back which had slowly gone black over time.

Flooring was sanded back, removing the stain and scratches. Hard Wax Oil was used to bring back the natural colour of the oak and give protection for years to come.

Crowborough Wolfe Bowls Club has been doing some renovation work to their club house.
I donated a pack of English engineered oak flooring from to create the worktop and beams.

I created boxing around the central column and end walls to give the illusion of solid oak posts.

This staircase was a nightmare with its multiple coats of old lead based paint, pins, nails and staples.
Once all the old paint and fastenings were scraped and pulled out, it was time to sand the treads and risers down. The risers were coated with a water-based paint which allowed me to apply multiple coats in one day.
The treads were coated with Hard Wax Oil (Soft White) which retains the 'just sanded' pale colour. They're now ready for a carpet runner to be installed.

From carpet to oak.
The green carpet was inherited with the house. With multiple dogs, carpets just weren't easy to keep clean and the fur got embedded.
The oak floor has added warmth and easy maintenance.
A picture frame was created around the fireplace to add detail.

The rest of the ground floor was engineered oak flooring, so we matched it up and helped add fluidity to the home.

Ensuite bathroom.
A lot of people get worried about putting wood flooring in bathrooms and kitchens, but the reality of it is that it works perfectly well.
This engineered oak flooring from Roundwood of Mayfield is fully coated with 2x coats of Hard Wax Oil. Water is repelled and moisture isn't an issue. We used 'Treatex: Hard Wax Oil' which has a non-slip additive.

Bedroom was previously carpeted.
Carpet was removed to reveal existing original floorboards.
Flooring was sanded back to bare wood removing stain, dents and scratches. Nails were punched and gaps filled. Flooring was coated with Natural Hard Wax Oil to block the natural orange colour of pine but keep the light 'just sanded' look.

Engineered oak flooring that had been down for 10 years. Kitchens get a rough time of it but once sanded and re-coated, this should last another 10+ years before needing a buff and coat.
