A stunning blend of old and new.

This former chapel is being transformed into a modern living space whilst preserving the original stone structure and character of the building.

Key elements of the project include: ✔ Natural slate roofing
✔ Structural alterations and steel installation
✔ High-performance glazing systems
✔ Large-format rooflights
✔ Retention and restoration of original stonework
✔ New insulated roof build-up to current standards

The natural light now entering the space completely changes the feel internally and really showcases the original features of the chapel.

This project involved extensive structural alteration works to open up the rear elevation of the property, including:

• Careful temporary support works
• Installation of structural steel beams
• Formation of a new enlarged opening
• Installation of modern aluminium bifold doors
• External preparation works ready for final finishes

The end result is a clean, modern opening that completely transforms the connection between the home and garden area.

The team at GossFord Constructions Ltd has been busy setting out, excavating foundations, and pouring the first stage of concrete. With the groundwork in place, we’re now ready to move forward and bring this extension to life.
