Regular maintenance work like this prevents surface level issues developing into bigger problems, while also ensuring our nation's young minds continue to benefit from its oldest buildings.

With government targets to build around 1.5 million new homes currently falling behind schedule, could some of the UK’s most historic buildings be about to receive a new lease of life?

The introduction of a “Reuse First Act” for historic buildings is currently being floated within parliament and would see a large number of listed buildings, churches and monuments which have fallen into disrepair being freshly renovated to provide around 670,000 new homes.

It’s amazing to see the consideration of a long-term future for some of our oldest buildings, and developments like these only strengthen our goal of restoring and preserving our national heritage landmarks for future generations to enjoy.
