Quality is engineered into every detail to suit the exact requirements of each project we undertake. At Pennethorne House (SW11), we’re supporting John F Hunt with a high-standard scaffolding solution for top-down mechanical demolition, forming part of Wandsworth Council’s Winstanley Neighbourhood Regeneration Plan.

We’ve also delivered a carefully considered solution to enable the safe removal of embedded materials from the external façade, with protection measures designed around operatives, the public and neighbouring buildings.

Riki Spencer, Contracts Manager, commented:
“Demolition scaffolding has to perform under changing conditions. We’ve focused on the detail, from beam work and tie strategy to responsive sequence support, keeping the job safe and moving forward.”

We’re proud to be assisting the team at John F Hunt on a project that will help reshape the local area and to demonstrate what best-in-class demolition scaffolding looks like when a quality approach leads every decision.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, at Inner City Scaffolding we’re reinforcing a message that matters deeply to us:
𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲

Scaffolding is demanding work. Long hours, physical strain and the constant risks associated with working at height place real pressure on those delivering critical work on site. That’s why mental wellbeing must be treated with the same seriousness as physical safety.

Last week, we were proud to welcome Andy and Sam from The Lighthouse Charity's Make It Visible team to a flagship project in Westminster, London. The entire workforce stood down to attend their powerful and engaging session – a clear statement that wellbeing matters as much as safety and programme. Too many people in our industry are suffering in silence and dying from su***de.

One comment afterwards stayed with us:

“How clear it was that your organisation is a good one – well in touch with the humanity of the operations.”

As Ed Grundon, Head of Group Marketing and Mental Health First Aider, explains:

“In an industry where people routinely work at height, under pressure, and in high-risk environments, we have a duty to look after mental health with the same focus as physical safety. At Inner City Scaffolding, this is about genuine, visible support – not lip service.”

We’re proud to support Lighthouse Charity and to play our part in creating safer, healthier workplaces where people know they are never alone.

A major milestone has recently been reached on our Extra Care Housing project in Guildford for CField Construction.

Our scaffolding is now at the required height ahead of roof works commencing, enabling CField to transition seamlessly into the next phase of the programme as the roof structure begins to take shape.

This £23m development brings together multiple public sector stakeholders and funding partners, making coordination, programme certainty, and safe access on site essential from the outset.

Working within a tight urban footprint, our team continues to deliver a safe, adaptable scaffolding solution using the HAKI system, supporting progress while responding quickly to the evolving needs of a high-profile scheme.

Just as important as the structure itself is the strength of the working relationship on site. As a repeat and highly valued client, CField Construction’s trust in our team reflects the importance of consistency, communication, and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle.

Our Contracts Supervisor, George Pantelantos, commented:

“Long-term client relationships are built on trust, reliability, and understanding what success looks like for the wider project team. Being attentive and responsive allows us to play an important role in bringing our client’s vision to life.”

We’re proud to be supporting CField Construction once again as a trusted scaffolding partner on a project that will deliver high-quality homes and lasting community value.

Another strong audit season for Inner City Scaffolding.

We’re proud to have passed both audits, National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) and Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS), recognising the high standards our teams maintain across safety, quality and compliance.

Ben Ramsey, Managing Director:

“Achieving industry and regulatory compliance is the baseline for how we operate, but we’re equally focused on continually challenging ourselves to improve. From planning and design through to installation and dismantling, our teams take ownership of raising standards for quality and safety on every project, across every sector we work in.”

Our team is delighted to be well underway with delivering a comprehensive scaffolding package at the former Croydon Park Hotel, supporting the building’s redevelopment.

We are providing a full access and scaffold solution, with provisions for structural, façade and internal works throughout the entire project lifecycle.

By working closely with the main contractor and wider project stakeholders, we’re ensuring every access element is delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with the overall redevelopment strategy.

This is a complex urban site, with a constrained footprint and a high-profile position within the local community - exactly the type of environment our specialist teams are equipped to manage with precision and consideration.

A big well done to Mark Wragg, whose drive, attitude and rapid development have earned him this month’s Employee of the Month recognition.

We’re proud to be supporting the mechanical demolition of the former Blackfriars Crown Court, forming part of a £100m redevelopment to deliver new student accommodation in central London.

Matthew Wright, Operations Director, shared his thoughts on the project and our role:

“Blackfriars is a tight, high-risk site where every detail matters. Our scaffolding package is designed to protect the public, safeguard neighbouring buildings just inches away, and secure a critical electrical substation while enabling controlled mechanical demolition. These are the environments where our teams do their best work, combining technical know-how with real, practical experience. It’s why demolition contractors trust us to help them deliver safely and confidently.”
