Barclay 416 out shunting in Swanwick yard on Saturday after fitment of new batteries.

Whilst up near the workshop the opportunity was taken to give the wheels and rods a clean up.

Lovely site in the afternoon sun with No15 & 16440.

Steam Loco update!

FALMOUTH DOCKS NO. 3, 3597
The boiler has now passed the out of
frames hydraulic and steam test and has now been reunited with the frames. The axlebox’s have returned from the contractor and fitted to allow the frames to become a rolling chassis.
Over the last few weeks focus has been on fitting copper pipework and boiler fittings whilst the team wait for the pistons and connecting rods to return from machining.

Painting is also underway as weather conditions allow with temperatures.

New platework has been prepped and final welded and with the new weld having Non Destructive Testing completed, the team are now starting to drill the many holes for stays and foundation rivets.
