🚩COULD THIS BE THE DOWNTURN IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY???🚩

A recent online article published by Inside Housing details a downturn of over 14% of planning applications submitted to Councils within Northern Ireland when compared with last year's statistics.

Despite the reduction in submitted planning applications, there is still a major delay in the processing of applications and the issuing of Decision Notices across Councils.

This significantly affects the financing of development opportunities and has a direct effect on the local economy and infrastructure.

Could this potential blip on the road speed up the processing times of local planning authorities on major and minor applications???

It’s great to see local families finally moving into these homes in Eglinton. It was a hard fought 3 years to obtain planning permission but thanks to local councillors on the planning committee these homes are delivered to the community ✅✅✅

Planning is ongoing for another 22 social housing homes on the Killylane Road. Hopefully, these will be approved in due course 👍

🏘PUBLIC COMMUNITY CONSULTATION EVENT 🏘

This Practice are holding a Public Community Consultation Event for a new Social Housing Development in Creggan which will form Phase 2 of Magowan Park and add an additional 100 -125 social housing units to meet the extreme social housing need of the area.

The event will be open to all members of the public and we invite you to come along to view the details of this development proposal and to voice your opinions.

🏠 HOUSING DEVELOPMENT UPDATE🏘

9 new Social Housing Units are now nearing completion on the Ballygudden Road in Eglinton in conjunction with APEX Housing; an investment of £1.2 million. The development consists of 8 dwellings & 1 Complex Needs dwelling and should be allocated come September this year.

Whilst this is a success, more needs to be done to address the ever growing Social Housing Need crisis in the village which currently stands at 67 units!

This Practice has now lodged a similar application for social housing units at Killylane Road, Eglinton. This is a much larger site that will offer a mixture of housing tenures that will, if approved, actively address Eglinton's social housing need.

🏘✅HMO'S ARE ALL GO in the Derry Area ✅🏘

LKP have been highly successful in the retaining and approval of 3 HMOs (Houses in Multiple Occupation) in the Derry City Area.

👉An 11 bed HMO was retained and approved at appeal within the heart of the City Centre as well as an application for demolition consent and rebuild of a 3 storey extension within a Conservation Area.
👉A 10 bed HMO was approved with the successful submission of a planning application to Council.
👉A 6 bed HMO was granted a Certificate of Lawfulness.

All 3 HMO approvals were granted within a reasonable timeframe by Council due to this Practice's expertise and knowledge regarding HMO Developments.
