In just under two weeks, the NEMI Workshop at NTNU - Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet in Trondheim will bring together the electron microscopy community to explore the transition from traditional TEM to automated, high-throughput “big data” workflows.
We are especially pleased that attendees will get hands-on experience using Merlin detectors as part of advanced workflows spanning:
🔹 3D ED and 4D-STEM
🔹 Automated acquisition with tools such as instamatic and PyJEM
🔹 Data processing using Jana/PETS2, pyxem and HyperSpy
For researchers looking to improve throughput, data quality and workflow automation in electron microscopy, this is a valuable opportunity to see how detector performance supports real scientific applications.
Although the official registration deadline has passed, the organisers have confirmed that late sign-ups are still being accepted.

This year’s workshop will focus on how to collect and analyze (big) data in transmission electron diffraction in a more automatic way than is done traditionally. New possibilities for automation and multidimensional data acquisition, collection routines, better cameras/detectors, and open-source d...
