Introducing our 2024-25 cohort of welding, pipe fitting and plating apprentices!

For the next 11 months our latest group of PJD apprentices will be learning the skills of their trade at the CATCH training facility. We are looking forward to following their journey with CATCH and witnessing their development once they join the rest of the PJD workforce in August 2025.

At PJD Mechanical Engineering, we are proud to support the industry and its growing need for resources with our apprentice programme which we host every year. In partnership with CATCH we help to develop the skills of new entrants into the industry and provide them with all of the training necessary for a long and successful career.

During the first year of training, our apprentices will be based at CATCH in Stallingborough, Grimsby. CATCH operates a £12 million facility which features cutting-edge, safe training spaces resembling real-world industrial plant and equipment. Here, our apprentices will learn their trade from experienced professionals who teach specialised courses which meet the needs of the industry.

👍The ideal PJD Apprentice will be/have:
· Hardworking
· Motivated
· Punctual
· Committed
· Ability to travel and work across the UK
· Grade 4’s (or above) in GCSE Maths, English Language and Science

Based at our Head Office in Doncaster, we are looking for a self-motivated individual who can take the lead on ensuring our stores facility meets the high standard and demand of the business.

👍The ideal candidate will have:
· Min. 3 years experience in a similar role.
· Full, clean driving license and FLT license.
· Eligibility to work and travel within the UK.
· An understanding of plant, tools, consumables etc. used within Engineering.
· Good standard of computer literacy.
· Excellent housekeeping standards.

The role of Warehouse & Central Stores Controller will be offered on a full time, permanent, 40hr contract with a salary of £30k per annum plus OT (negotiable depending on experience). Although this role will be mainly based at our Head Office in Doncaster, some travel may be required to meet operational needs.
