This is one of Jim installations and credit to him it’s worked great for a long time.

We’ve now installed a login max with 10 year manufacture warranty and system flushed clean! Hive heating and magnetic system filter installed.

Then on top of that it’s being tightened so much to stop the leak the olives now thinner than the pipe.

Dangerous flue

Another day another bad installation.

The flue should be sealed at-least on one side with cement, not expanding foam or silicone but just old fashioned cement.

Now the only thing holding this flue from coming out and killing the occupants is a rubber seal whose job isn’t to hold the flue in place. It won’t sit correctly on the seal as it’s also not held in place.

Remedial works done and correct, more photos in the comments later.

When is the cheapest ever the best option?

This customer opted for the massive 40kw worcester heat only with a massive 10 year manufacture warranty Professionally installed and system flushed.

Systems left with dirt in will cause warranties to be cancelled, systems not flushed when pipes have being soldered will unfortunately cause issues.

However the industry recommends to flush a system every 5-6 year but with a magnetic system filter I can keep an eye on the water quality. Not fitting a filter will save short term but unfortunately not long term.

Thermostat upgrade.

This was booked in to upgrade an old analogue one.

Customer opted for a digital Honeywell which is a good looking thermostat.

I changed it out without issue but either I was having an off day or there was a fault!!

The heating was ignoring the thermostat, a quick look into the wiring centre and someone had linked out the thermostat so it would just drive over the change over valve no matter the temperature.

This would make the heating stay on when the timer was on.

I rewired it and got it to work perfectly, this will reduce the running cost loads.

What a strange job!
