🚨‼️Research in Action at DBTH - T4P‼️🚨

This week our team received an extra special sweet treat from the T4P study team after recruiting our 17th participant on the trial.

The Threshold for Platelets Study (T4P) aims to find out when we should (or shouldn’t) give platelet transfusions to critically unwell patients when needing a procedure in the ICU.

A big well done and thank you to the Research Team and Colleagues on Critical Care.

🚨‼️Clinical Academic Nursing in Action‼️🚨

We're pleased to celebrate the publication of international research led by one of our nurses, comparing sedation practices in ICU settings in the UK and Australia.

This work is a great example of the impact clinical academic nurses can have by bridging the gap between research and patient care. By combining clinical expertise with research, clinical academic nurses are uniquely positioned to address questions that matter to patients, staff, and services.

Congratulations to Sarah Varga and colleagues on this fantastic achievement. 👏

🌟 We're proud to support the CHESS Trial! 🌟

The CHESS (CHildren's Early Self-care Support) study is exploring ways to help young children with neurodisability develop greater independence in everyday self-care activities. 💙👧🧒

Forty NHS therapy services across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are taking part. The services will be allocated randomly to provide one of two treatment approaches. All therapists in the local service will then use that approach, and all children in the service will receive that approach.

The trial is being led locally by Claire Ziolkowski and Jennifer Allen and delivered by the dedicated Children's Therapy Team. 👏 Their passion for improving care, willingness to embrace research, and dedication to supporting children and families will help make the trial a real success. 🌟💙

By working together with children, families and healthcare professionals, we're helping to build the evidence needed to shape better support, greater independence and brighter futures for young children. 🌈✨🤝

🚨‼️Research in Action at DBTH - NEW STUDY OPEN - PETReA Plus ‼️🚨

PETReA Plus is a UK-based observational study generating critical data from a wide range of Follicular Lymphoma (FL) patients. The study will help clinicians and patients with FL to make more informed, personalized decisions about their treatment in the future.
