This week, South Western Scaffolding have been privileged enough to be involved with some essential conservation to both the south and north stairwells inside Montecute House in Somerset. For at least one hundred years attempts have been made to support the staircases and now, The National Trust has been working alongside many experts, including Historic England, to develop a long-term solution for the staircases; to make them safe and protect the stone for future use. So far, we’ve had some great feedback from all involved parties regarding our methodology and approach to the project which is nice to hear. We look forward to completing phase 1 ahead of schedule very soon.
