One of the things I’m really passionate about is helping local schools and charities raise extra funds 💜
I do this through something called the Connector Initiative.
This is where I partner with a school or organisation, and when people switch their household services, the organisation receives a contribution.
I’ve recently started working with St Martin’s School, Dorking and just from 2 parents switching, the school has already received £175 🙌
That’s without any fundraising events, raffles, or extra effort, just people sorting out things they’re already paying for.
I’ll also be running a monthly free “Bill Clinic” at the school for parents, so they can get help and advice in a really simple, no-pressure way.
It’s such an easy way to support a school or charity without asking people to spend extra money.

I was reminded of a story that really stuck with me.
There was a dog lying on a nail. It was clearly uncomfortable, whining and complaining, but not quite uncomfortable enough to get up and move.
And it made me think how often we do that as people.
We know something is not quite right. We feel the pinch. We talk about it.
But it is still just comfortable enough to stay where we are.
This weekend challenged me to look at where I might be doing exactly that in life and in business.
So I am asking myself, and maybe you too,
What is the nail you have been lying on that you know you could move away from?
No judgement, just curiosity.

New Year often gets talked about in terms of big goals.

One of the best habits I have picked up is much simpler.
Actually checking the everyday things we pay for and then forget about.

Energy, broadband, mobile and insurance quietly tick away in the background, and before you know it another year has gone by.

I have also got into the habit of using my cashback card for everyday spending, and it usually saves me around £60 a month off my bill. It is now something I do without even thinking about it.

This weekend was a good reminder that many people have no idea whether they are on a good deal or not, simply because life is busy.

So this is your gentle nudge.
