It's so satisfying working on traditional timber splicing and bringing back to life old windows with in some cases over a hundred yrs of history behind them, and you can almost get into the mindset of the long gone carpenter that originally crafted them all those yrs ago . These new splices will ensure that these beautiful old windows will if correctly maintained well outlast any PVC counterpart and further preserve the character of both this beautifully maintained old townhouse and the memory of the old boy that made them originally.

12m by 4m Mahogany conservatory spliced all the way around the base and good for another 20yrs or so once the painter works his magic. Lots of work involved but quite satisfying once you get into the rhythm of things.

Lovely little bespoke Gothic style garden gate perfectly in keeping with this charming Manx period cottage . The original 100 yr plus refurbed furniture just giving it that little extra character.

Couple of little jobs . Make and fit hinged double garage doors same as existing and a couple of ledge and brace .

Love working on older properties as they tend to have far more character and history behind them !


Bit of old school traditional box window splice and re cording today as the original was badly infested with dry rot . Cut out all infected timber and replace and treat all new woodwork and adjacent walls with preservative ,upgrade parting lath and guard bead ,having to make all the linings and box cill as they no longer stock the profiles in the merchants .

As a result ,windows now sliding smoothly and good for another 40-50 odd yrs. plus in my opinion far more in keeping with original building ,interestingly the old boy who made the original had decided that the window did not need pockets for some reason.

Nice little bit of herringbone flooring just completed . It's always fun especially working in hallways with multiple door openings!

Although happy to fit both ,I have to admit that the composite decking looks far more striking than the standard timber variety.
