In 2002, I started my career in the construction industry labouring for a landscape company based in Ashford.

After two years of learning great skills, I started a joint business venture which lasted 17 years. During those years, I learnt many skills which allowed me to become a multi trader. After this successful venture, I wanted to evolve my skills into the management side of this industry which was in both commercial and domestic sectors of construction. The 6 years allowed me to develop new skills su

ch as managing large projects and enhance my interpersonal skills, as well as attaining qualifications alongside the role. In 2022, starting From Trowel to Trees Ltd has been one of my best achievements. My business offers top quality landscaping and construction services, which include project management. I started my career in the construction industry back in 2002, starting at the bottom of the ladder labouring for a landscape company based in Challock, Ashford, after two years learning some great skills i decided to start a new business venture with my at the time, current contracts manager, this partnerships lasted 17+ years before deciding to try my way in the world of management, during my years on the tools, i learnt many skills which allowed me to confirm myself as a multi trader. After the above period i decided to move into management or director roles for 6 years, this was within the commercial and domestic construction sectors. This period allowed me to secure new skills and qualifications along with learning how to manage large projects and improve man management skills. In 2022 i made a great decision to start `From trowel to trees ltd’ and offer high end landscaping and construction services, also including project management on projects clients would like me to be involved with. I enjoy meeting new people and more than anything bringing peoples expectations a reality!!

Recently completed landscaping project, Temple Ewell.

Really happy how all these individual jobs turned out. Challenging access with a huge amount of steps to access the upper garden area.

Works completed are as follows:

- remove existing failed steps and replace with new soft wood sleeper staircase and banister to create a safe access to the clients upper garden space.
-remove a failed wall including foundations, loose term unfortunately on the site!!
-install new heavy frame gate and close board panel with top cap.
- full removal of the lower garden wall including foundations.
-excavate new strip footing, pour foundation, blockwork and face brickwork retaining wall.
- install a new brick on edge detail and gravel path to finish the front space off.
- general repairs to steps, paving, tiles etc. asked to tidy up a few dangerous items before we handed the site over with our client.

Great outcome which I hope the client agrees!

Recently completed!

New replacement retaining wall & estate fencing project.

My client asked for a secure area for there dog who loves to escape next door on occasions, the other was the replace the rotten oak sleeper retaining wall with a low maintenance option.

Gabion baskets using Dove grey infill here we go!!

Previously we removed the slate treads from a set of steps within the garden, so we took the opportunity to widen the access path to give a more usable path for the future.

My suggestions had to be in keeping with the property, location as-well as practical.

Very happy how all these elements turned out, another great job by the FTTT team. 🤝🤝🤝👌

Managed to complete two projects this week.

A new retaining wall in Folkestone for a client who had an existing wall collapsed, new foundation and block wall to retain his existing patio. A simple hand rail to stop any potential falls.

Our second little project was to remove a dead hedge, install a new panel to match the existing. Remove and replace a taller close board bay to give the client some privacy.
All in time to enjoy the bank holiday weekend!!

Recently completed project in Lydden, Dover.

Timed this project perfectly with the weather now showing signs of the sun!!
Almost forgot what is feels like to be dry😂

Full rear garden redesign completed.

Reduce dig full area, install 150mm MOT primary sub base over geotextile layer.
New drainage scheme installed to solve the standing water issue.
Installation of foundations, new retaining walls, steps and paving.

Really enjoyed seeing the transformation from the dark and dingy decking & sleeper walls now to see the beautiful new brick retaining walls with dark mortar to match the brick and flow point grout within the 5mm paving joints.

Thanks to my team & suppliers and look forward to another one like this in the future.

Recently completed project in Hythe, Kent.

Project consisted of the following items:

-removal of sleeper plant bed and infill.
-installation of new porcelain step onto existing deck area.
-installation of composite deck fillet along with making good frame where required.
-Lift and relay front entrance paving and repoint.
- Repoint all existing paving using correct infill for porcelain.
-prepare new plant bed and install new plants.

A big transformation and another great job by the FTTT team!!

Recently completed Astro turf job completed in River, Dover.

Due to the original turf space not enjoying the lack of sun and my client having dogs this was the only green option available. Now a usable clean space, we installed a pet proof Astro turf to allow the pets to use without any issues.

Recently completed project in Hythe, Kent.

Really enjoyed going back to an old customer.
Tasked with removing the old composite deck and frame due to drainage issues, this caused the frame to collapse in many areas.

Re installation of new porcelain paving including the full replacement of the access steps to finish the area off.
Adding the wrap around step to the bottom, really opens up the area and made accessing the area so much better.

Drainage issues inspected, drainage resolved and channel drain installed.

Great choice of colour from the client at tender stage, well done them!!

Another great job to start the year off. Finished off on the hottest day of 2026 so far🤛
