Meet one of our apprentice bricklayers, learning his trade while gaining hands-on experience across our live developments.

Bricklaying is one of the key trades behind every new home we build.

It requires accuracy, consistency and a strong understanding of drawings and specifications to make sure every wall is built correctly and to a high standard.

It’s a skilled trade that plays a huge role in the quality of the finished home!

Spotlight on: Kenyon Lane, Moston 🏡

Working in partnership with Jigsaw Homes Tameside, we delivered nine new two and three-bedroom affordable homes at Kenyon Lane in Moston.

The £2.2m development uses timber frame construction, with Air Source Heat Pumps, EV charging points and off-road parking, alongside sustainable landscaping, new trees and communal green space.

A great scheme to have been part of and another example of what can be achieved through strong partnership working!

You might have heard us mention Project 500, but what exactly is it?

Led by Manchester City Council, Project 500 aims to deliver 500 new affordable homes across the city, making use of underused brownfield sites and focusing on low-carbon, sustainable homes.

We're proud to be playing our part, with 96 homes delivered by John Southworth through Project 500 so far! 🏡

You might have heard the term brownfield site, but what does it actually mean?

A brownfield site is land that has been used before, perhaps for old industrial buildings, warehouses or other developments, and is no longer in use.

Rather than building on untouched green spaces, brownfield sites give us the opportunity to breathe new life into land that's been sitting empty. They can be transformed into much-needed new homes, helping regenerate local areas while making the best use of existing land 👏
