Another fantastic project entered into the Commercial Roofing Awards was Kinmylies Nursery, featuring the stunning finish of VM ZINC QUARTZ. Although the project didn’t make the shortlist this time, we’re incredibly proud of the end result. We’re sure you’ll all agree that the roofing and cladding looks amazing and showcases the quality of the materials and craftsmanship that went into bringing this project to life!

Shortlisted - Commercial Roofing Award at the FTMTC Awards 2026

Orkney Care Home was proudly shortlisted in the Commercial Roofing category, recognising the quality of the roofing installation featuring VM ZINC QUARTZ. Although we didn’t take home the award, the standard of entries this year was exceptionally high, making it a fantastic achievement to be recognised among such strong competition. Being shortlisted is a testament to the quality of the project, the materials used, and the craftsmanship involved.

Finalist for 'Projects with a value of under £35k' at the FTMRC Awards 2026.

The award-winning project showcases the innovative use of Corten steel as both the roofing and external cladding material, creating a striking architectural design that combines durability with contemporary aesthetics. We are delighted to announce that at the annual FTMRC Awards 2026 held in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, our team at HL Metals walked away with 3 awards from 5 categories 🥰

* Winner of 'The Cladding Award'
*Runner up for the 'Contractor of the year Award'
*Finalist for the 'Projects under the value of £35k Award'

We were also shortlisted for the 'Commercial Roofing Award' which is also a huge achievement given the entries and talent in this trade.

There are 67 companies throughout the UK and Ireland who are members of the FTMRC, and for our small family run Scottish business to be runner up in the Contractor of the Year Awards just means the world to us 🌍
