When your kitchen is reduced to bare breeze blocks, dangling wires, and a bag of rubble where your kettle used to live, the reality of home improvements really sets in. Packing up and moving out isn't always practical or even possible, meaning you are left trying to make a cup of tea around a building site.

We know how stressful it is having tradespeople in your personal space. That is why keeping disruption to a minimum is a massive priority for us.

I make sure you are kept in the loop at every single step so you always know what to expect. Just as importantly, we run a tidy-up system at the end of every day because it is your home first and our workspace second.

It's hard to believe it's already a year since we finished the refit over at Veeno in Durham.

Now we're right into another one on Silver Street, doing some upgrade work at Coviello. It's run by Daniele and Alicja, who do a brilliant job with the place—great food, wine, coffee, and pastries.

We've got a couple of early-stage snaps here of how things look right now while we're on with it. Looking forward to getting it finished and seeing the final result come together soon.

Never let it be said that I don't get my hands (and boots) dirty.

Here I am putting in the hard graft, raking in the concrete for the foundations of a new extension.

Believe it or not, getting this poured turned into an absolute battle of rain-dodging. Yes, even after the glorious summer we've had—you couldn't make it up!

While domestic extensions and home transformations keep us busy, just a quick reminder that we are fully available for commercial building and joinery work too. Whether it's a domestic upgrade or a commercial project, the same standard of graft goes into every job.

As a massive rugby fan, I am thrilled to share that County Durham Building & Joinery Ltd has agreed some sponsorship and advertising with Bishop Auckland Rugby Club for the 2026/2027 season.

It was a pleasure meeting Peter Gallone to get everything sorted, and our new board is already up in place.

First impressions of the club? A seriously great setup.

I have also applied to be a club member (definitely non-playing!) and am really looking forward to getting along to a game or two when the new season kicks off.

These customers are gradually renovating a 1930's house. We have been asked to brick up a window and fit out the bathroom. The supply and drainage tails are in, the floor preparation is next. The eaves door will be replaced by a smaller hatch as some services might need to be accessed at a later date.
