TopMark's Workshop

From a very young age I have had a keen interest in the mechanical workings of the bicycle… my first real bike was a Raleigh record sprint in black and gold, and was one of the first bikes to have 12 gears. It was this bike that started my passion for Bicycle repairs. I then went onto finish a City&Guilds bicycle engineering course which was held at Armstrong cycles in Gilesgate and run by a man called Harry young. The course gave me experience and knowledge in fault finding and learning to repair and build bikes. Since then I have continued to practice cycle maintenance and repairs working for other bike shops and also repairing bikes for friends and family at home, and now I would like to use my cycle maintenance skills to help others keep their bikes running to a safe and reliable standard. With regular servicing your bike will last much longer than a bike that has had no treatment. It was mainly my passion for cycle repairs that started TopMark’s Workshop but the lack of work and job opportunities played a part as well. However this venture is neither money driven nor do I want to open my own bike shop, there is already plenty of them about. What I want to provide is a 100% Workshop environment, where you can bring your bike to get serviced or repaired with100% help and honest advice in getting your bike working to a TopMark’s standard, and at the same time you would be helping me build the workshop that would provide anything from a puncture repair to a full service or a complete strip down and rebuild of your bicycle.
