Just a quick update on Nicks fundraising chopping boards.
Nick is still trying to get more chopping boards made but he's currently now attending neurological rehabilitation physio session 3 x weekly and also with the colder weather the production is much slower.
He does have a few ready, so if anyone would still like to buy one pls send Emma Dring a message too arrange collection.
Thank you again for all your support and generous donations and a huge thank you too Cresta Dog Club for their very generous donation.
We will keep you posted on much needed items purchased for white cross rehabilitation hospital with the fundraising donations over the next few weeks.. 😊

Since we hit our toughest time as a family as Nick had his stroke , we won’t lie, it’s been really hard, that said, I want to share some good news, a positive post!

Nick has made amazing progress so far, which he couldn't have done without the dedicated and amazing staff at “White Cross Court Rehabillitation Hospital”.

As a way to to say thank you, to support other stroke survivors progressing the their rehab, and to aid his own, Nick is doing something which seemed impossible a few months ago, I’m so pleased to share he’s in a workshop 🤩 making chopping boards for a very good cause, it’s to raise money to help fund items to make the early rehab process a little easier.

White Cross Court do so much, they buy all their patients gifts on special occasions and also help their families visits easier, from simple treats for children to outdoor areas for a more home from home environment. They are currently raising funds for outdoor furniture and Nick wants to help.

Every chopping board sale will help support this fantastic facility as well as support Nick’s progress in moving forward (keeping him out of mischief).

If you’re interested in buying one of Nick’s hand made boards, they range in sizes and are just £30 + any additional donation.

Hi Dave here from Ken Teal Joinery . As you know we had an unexpected event late August and I've not posted much since. I spoke with Nick & Emma and we'd like to give you an update. Nick suffered a stroke on his return from a family weekend in London back in August, he was in York hospital before being transfered to Hull. He has spent over 3 months in White Cross Huntington rehabilitating and fighting all sorts of issues and complications during his journey. Emma, his fiancée has not missed a day supporting him and even carrying out physiotherapy to aid his recovery; what a rock she is.

Nick is so determined, a true fighter and has surprised nursing staff on how he has improved, ( that was always going to be the case) no surprise to us that know him well. His determination positive attitude and the positive people around him has led to great news as he is now home. He came home at the weekend, so he can enjoy a family Christmas. I had some help during Nick's absence ( not the same without him ) to finish outstanding work, which I am eternally grateful for. We apologies to those we have not been able to carry out work for and i know this weighs heavily on Nick's mind. We needed to know when to draw the line for all our health & well being - mentally and physically. It's too early to know what the future holds, but our tools remain on standby and will do for the foreseeable, you haven't seen the last of us yet 🤣.

So on that note from Nick & Emma thanks for all the support from family and friends during this difficult time. From me thanks to the guys that rallied round and stepped up and supported and helped me out on jobs and at the workshop/yard. Let's not forget the NHS we would be lost without it from my experience.
