A few weeks back we where back in Bristol for the BEVs tournament!
A fantastic sunny day, great robots, atmosphere and crowd.
We finally got propellant working as a cluster robot! It was great fun driving alongside Mason as a team. Flipperpool was also in the event meaning we had 3 robots to look after!
The day went well for propellant, the cluster bot won all 3 of its fights. The 2nd robot designed and built by Mason performed fantastically on its first outing, needing only minor tweeks all day and getting great flips in.
Propellant also enetered the team event being paired with another flipper robot. This went less well.... the advantage we get from having two smaller robots does not translate well when the over team also have two robots and we took some heavy chainsaw damge! Including having a link sniped.
Flipperpool had a tougher day, it won 2 out of its 3 fights. Flipperpool had two perfect events, winning all its fights without technical issues before this so I guess it was due some problems. The cut off pressure switch used to turn the compressor off when 10 bar is reached malfunctioned constantly. This means the system kept over pressuring and blowing fittings unless I kept flipping and venting.... this made fights difficult... despite this it still had some great fights and drove realy well.
A new pressure switch and some new HDPE to replace the chainsaw mauling and we should be good to go again.
