IFT was appointed by South Lanarkshire Council to undertake a major flooring refurbishment at the Blantyre Fleet Depot. This facility is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the council’s fleet of vans and trucks.

The project required the installation of a robust and high-performance flooring solution that could withstand heavy usage and harsh conditions, while allowing the depot to remain operational throughout the works.

IFT carried out full preparation of the existing floor, which involved the removal of historic coatings and hashtag to expose a clean and sound substrate with a phased installation of 3,730 sqm of Sika Ucrete® UD 200. This heavy-duty polyurethane hashtag is lightly textured and offers excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, heavy impact, and temperatures up to +150 °C. Additional Sika coatings were applied to walkways and service bays to enhance safety and durability.

Appointed by Linea Construction, the IFT team has been busy delivering specialist hashtag and insulation services for a new build residential housing development in Blackburn, West Lothian.

The project required a high-performance flooring solution tailored to meet both acoustic and thermal requirements across 1,090sqm of residential space. IFT supplied and installed a bespoke combination of materials to meet the project’s technical and regulatory standards including:

🔴 65–100mm hashtag – trowel applied for durability and level finish
🔴 Xtratherm Insulation – high-performance thermal insulation
🔴 Polythene Membrane – moisture barrier and protection layer
🔴 Sound Deadening Foam – acoustic insulation to reduce impact noise.

IFT was appointed by Thomas Johnstone Ltd to support the transformation of five separate retail units into one flagship Uniqlo store in Glasgow’s city centre.

The reconfiguration required extensive levelling works to ensure a consistent and quality surface for the final floor finishes - spanning approximately 2,000sqm.

IFT supplied and installed a tailored combination of energystore TLA, Cemfloor, and Self-Levelling .

Energystore TLA (Thermal Lightweight Aggregate) is a cutting-edge flowing screed that replaces traditional PIR insulation. Its benefits include:

· Enhanced programme efficiency

· Reduced material usage

· Natural absorption of substrate unevenness



These features make TLA an ideal solution for modern construction environments where speed, sustainability, and precision are key.

The project posed logistical challenges due to its busy city centre location but IFT worked in close collaboration with the client to ensure all tolerances and finishes were met, delivering a smooth and level base ready for the final flooring installation.
