This is a follow on from the previous reel. Not a single mechanical fixing in the entire verge. And not just this verge, any of the 4 verges across the building.

When the original timber barge board was replaced, the undercloak was fixed through the timber. You can still see the nail heads if you look closely. But when the bargeboard was replaced with PVC, the nails were cut, and the new bargeboard butted up under. A quick wipe of silicone and everything looks great. Except that now nothing is holding the verge to the building.

Good job this tiny bead of silicone isn't the only thing attaching the entire verge to the building. Only a few hundred kilograms of tile and mortar balanced over your head

Toilets discharge through a 110mm waste pipe. Because they can be difficult to run through a building, you can use a Saniflo that macerates all the waste and allows it to be pumped through a narrower pipe. It allows you to put a W/C in awkward spots.

Heres an example of what happens when you plumb everything up for a Saniflo, and then dont put one in, or remove it down the line.

Somebody went to the effort of welding together an apron for the front of the stack but only bothered to put a 50mm return on it. Sometimes I just don't understand!

This was supposed to be a simple job. Bring one side of the window in to make the opening smaller. Got my gear out, ran my strings from the left to right, and up we were. Took me a while to figure out why it didn't look right and what was wrong.
