At The Edinburgh Boiler Company, community is at the heart of everything we do and now we’re inviting the children of our community get involved in our brand new social media campaign!

We’re on the lookout for children to become our new “EBC News” reporters to feature alongside new radio ads featuring young presenters 🎙️

To enter, simply email:

Roddy’s new setup is a perfect example of how solar and battery storage can transform the way you power your home.

Up to 80% funding support available for renewable installations! ⚡

With funding from the CARES Community Building Fund, we installed a 12kW Vaillant air source heat pump and a 14kW Daikin Sky AC system for the Borders Ice Rink as part of a larger ongoing renewable project, helping them improve efficiency and reduce reliance on traditional energy sources.

The site also benefits from pre-existing solar panels funded through CARES, generating clean electricity and creating an additional income stream to support ongoing running costs.

It’s a powerful example of how community facilities can become more sustainable and financially resilient with the right support.

💡 CARES funding is now open for 2026 , offering up to 80% funding support (up to £80k) via Local Energy Scotland for eligible community and charity projects.

Community ice rink making big moves towards a greener future! ⚡

We recently met up with Bill Burgess at The Borders Ice Rink in Kelso to hear their story and how they began their journey into renewable energy. Like many community facilities, rising energy costs were a real challenge, so they turned to renewable technology to help secure their facility for many more generations to come.

Through funding support from the CARES Community Building Fund, they were able to explore renewable solutions. CARES funding is now open for 2026, offering up to 80% funding support for installation costs (up to £80k) for eligible charities and community groups exploring renewable technology through Local Energy Scotland.
