Building and strengthening great supplier relationships doesn't always have to happen in the office… ⛳☀️

We had lovely weather for our Annual Supplier Golf Day at Dunblane New Golf Club yesterday.

The day brought together some of our Ferrier Pumps team with friends and colleagues from Lowara, Xylem, KSB, Wilo, Grundfos, Frazer, Edmundson Electrical Ltd and EnviroClean for a round of golf, plenty of conversation and a bit of friendly competition along the way.

Playing with our own Stephen Williamson was James Whitely (Lowara) and Stuart Lumsden (KSB), while Scott Po***ck and Ryan Lynch hosted Steven Walker of Wilo and Colin Johnston from Grundfos.

Bradley Port and Neil McKechan teamed up with Iain Brown of Xylem and Alan Milne of Frazer, while Ricky Swan and Stuart Cook went around with Callum Carville of Edmundson Electrical and Mark Donaghy of Enviroclean.

Days like this are a chance to spend time with the people we work alongside throughout the year, away from the usual calls, emails and meetings - and that's every bit as important when it comes to maintaining strong partnerships.

Thanks to everyone who joined us - great company, great weather and (ahem) some great golf too! 😆⛳

Need a little more support with your next Building Services project? We've put everything you need in one place. 👇

Building Services has been a core part of what we do at Ferrier Pumps for decades – from helping customers select the right equipment through to installation, commissioning, servicing and those occasions when something needs attention quickly.

And we've now made it a little easier to explore that expertise online.

Our new Building Services page brings together the products, solutions and support available from our team, including:

💧 Cold water booster sets and integrated pump/tank systems
⚙️ Pressurisation units and expansion vessels
🚰 CAT5 booster sets
🔧 Bespoke skid units and packaged plant rooms
🛠️ Service, repair, project sales and small works

We also carry stock of standard booster sets, pressurisation units and vessels, helping us respond quickly when availability matters.

Behind all of that is the part you won't necessarily find on a product datasheet – an experienced team that can help understand the application, identify the right solution and continue supporting it throughout its working life.

Whether you're specifying a new system, replacing existing equipment or trying to solve a problem with what's already there, take a look at our new Building Services page and see how Ferrier can help you

There's a good reason for that... 👀🚐

Our growing fleet means greater coverage, faster response times and more support, exactly where and when it's needed.

So if you spot one of our vans on the road, there's a good chance we're already on our way to help another customer .

Why does ongoing training matter?

Because the more our engineers know, the faster they can solve your problems!

As technology continues to evolve, so do we and upskilling our people is one of the best investments we can make in ourselves and ultimately, our customers.

Members of our Contract Delivery team recently spent the day with Siemens in East Kilbride, developing their knowledge of level and flow controllers through practical training covering:

Programming
Installation
Operating Principles
Fault Finding

As our Commissioning Manager, Scott Po***ck, put it afterwards, "The training was worthwhile for both experienced and inexperienced users and delivered through hands-on learning".

That's knowledge our team takes straight back into the field - helping us commission systems more efficiently, diagnose issues faster and provide even better support.

Thanks to Les Mitchell and Martin Ruck from Siemens - we're already looking forward to welcoming them back for another training day soon so we can make sure our customers continue to .

How do you choose the right industrial pump?

When you're moving aggressive chemicals, abrasive sludge, high-viscosity fluids or precision dosing media, there's rarely a "one-size-fits-all" solution.

The right pump depends on what you're pumping, how you're pumping it and what you need it to achieve.

We help our customers across power generation, wastewater, chemical processing and industrial manufacturing select pumping solutions that improve reliability, reduce maintenance and lower whole-life operating costs.

Whether that's:

💧 Progressing cavity pumps for abrasive sludges
⚙️ Three and two-screw pumps for oils, fuels and process fluids

🔄 Peristaltic pumps for high solids and dosing applications
🌊 Centrifugal, propeller & gear pumps for demanding industrial duties..our engineers don't just recommend a product.

We recommend the right solution for your application.

Because choosing the correct pump at the beginning can mean years of improved efficiency, lower maintenance costs and greater reliability.

If you're unsure which technology best suits your process, our team would be happy to help you

This Focus Friday is perfectly timed as we're celebrating Christopher Stewart receiving his Long Service Award in recognition of his incredible 30 years at Ferrier.

What a journey it’s been!

Chris joined us in 1994 on his work experience placement through Aberdeen Technical College, before starting his apprenticeship in March 1995. Three decades later, he's become one of the most respected and knowledgeable members of our Aberdeen team.

Anyone who knows Chris knows he's never been one to stand back. As Supervisor, he's still very much a hands-on service engineer, leading by example and always willing to share his knowledge. He's played a huge part in developing the next generation of engineers - including his own son, Ben - passing on the skills, standards and work ethic that have defined his career.

Chris has always been someone our customers and colleagues can rely on. His commitment, professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile have made a real difference to Ferrier Pumps over the past 30 years and we're incredibly grateful for everything he continues to do.

Congratulations Chris and thank you for three decades of loyalty, dedication and outstanding service. It's a privilege to have you as part of Team Ferrier.

Presenting Chris with his Long Service Award is Aberdeen Branch Manager Bradley Port.

Chocolate factories are usually the ones keeping us sweet... 🍫

This time, it was our turn!

A pump failure first thing in the morning could have meant hours of lost production of tea cakes, snowballs and meringues for one of our long-standing and valued customers.

Instead, thanks to having the right pump in stock, a quick response from our team and same-day delivery, they were back up and running before lunchtime.

That's the benefit of having a relationship with our team - we understand the needs of customers for whom every minute counts and waiting simply isn't an option.

Our tagline , says it all.

In this case, that meant keeping downtime to a minimum, production moving and restoring operations for Stephen and the wider team.
