ACT Blade Ltd designs and develops ACT Blade technology, the most efficient wind turbine blade. ACT Blade founding team, composed of Dr Sabrina Malpede (CEO), Dr Alessandro Rosiello (CFO) and Dr Donald MacVicar (CTO), has more than a decade of experience in developing and commercialising innovative solutions for the design of light weight, flexible structures that work in the wind. ssful venture of that team is SMAR Azure Ltd. SMAR Azure is a market leader in tailored computer-aided design applications and analytical software for the marine industry. It also offers expert engineering services to designers of complex artefacts in a variety of industrial sectors, using its CAD technology in combination with FEM/FEA tools and advanced CFD-Ranse. All products commercialised by the company are based on its proprietary technology, developed in close collaboration with major industry players. The company has more than 200 customers in 28 countries. In 2014, SMAR Azure won a contract from the Land-Rover Ben Ainslie Racing team to develop the model and analytical tools for the wing-sail catamaran.

Delighted to announce that, following a comprehensive and successful structural and lightening testing campaign, and final production, the ACT100, a 49.2m long blade for a 2MW turbine, receive the Component Certification according to the latest international standards. This is the result of a long and complex process, as we are offering a blade that uses new materials and new production models.
