We've an affa clever bunch here at G&M! 🌟🤓

Here's a recent project we've been working on. Our team very cleverly designed and built this custom-made outdoor cupboard space to make use of an otherwise overlooked area, creating generous and discreet storage while seamlessly complementing the existing patio area.

Back in April we put the word out that we were looking for a time-served Joiner to join our team. ⏩ Fast forward a few months... and we're still looking! 👀

⭐ Career Spotlight: Stuart Wilson

Meet Stuart Wilson, a former Elgin Primary School and Elgin High School pupil who has built a hands‑on, craft‑driven and leadership‑focused career that has led him to his current role as Director at Grant & McPherson Construction Ltd.

Stuart’s favourite subject at school was Woodwork, a practical, creative subject that helped spark his interest in building, making and problem‑solving. That early passion didn’t just influence his path, it became the foundation of the career he would go on to build.

His working life began with a first job as a paperboy. But the real turning point came thanks to Mr Farquhar, his Technical Teacher at Elgin High School, whose encouragement inspired Stuart to pursue a future in construction. That guidance set him on a path that would eventually lead to one of his proudest achievements: becoming a Company Director.

Today, Stuart leads with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality, values that have shaped his reputation and helped him build a career he’s proud of.

Almost 30 years ago, Hamish and Seth of then Grant & McPherson Joinery Services, made the papers (for good reasons, of course!) 📰 We came across this old newspaper article from 1998 and couldn't resist sharing it!

The duo might look a little younger... but they should be very familiar to anyone who knows 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 & 𝗠𝗰𝗣𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝘁𝗱 today 🙂

🥃🤎 𝘼 𝙏𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙀 𝙊𝙁 𝙎𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙃𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙎𝙋𝙀𝘾𝙄𝘼𝙇 🤎🥃

We've recently been working with 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗰 on the creation of a wh**ky tasting room at Tomintoul Distillery.

They say '𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙛𝙨 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝'... but that certainly wasn't the case here! It was a true team effort with everyone bringing their skills, ideas and attention to detail to the table 💪

And the results? 𝗣𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹 😍 Take a look 👀

🔨 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙮 🥃

We were asked by 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝘂𝘀 𝗗𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗰 to replace the oak runners on their cask dumping troughs.

A great project to be involved with, helping to maintain and restore these important working features using quality oak, built to withstand the demands of the distillery environment 💪

🔨 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙩𝙯 𝙃𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 🔨

There's only one direction our Customer is going, and that's ⬆ 𝗨𝗣 𝗨𝗣 𝗨𝗣 ⬆ (and down!) and we're feeling pretty 𝙂𝙤𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙣 about it! 💛🎶

Our team prepared the area in the utility room to accommodate the installation of a Stiltz Home Lift, providing convenient access through to the hallway upstairs.

From the initial preparation and structural work through to creating a clean, finished space ready for the lift installation, careful planning and attention to detail were key thoughout 🗝🧐

It's fantastic to see how the space has been transformed to help improve accessibility and mobility for our customer, making everyday life easier and more convenient 💙🤝

Another project completed with care, quality and our customer's needs at the heart of everything we do 🥰
