A well-dressed distribution board, neatly bundled cables, properly labelled circuits. It looks good in a photo, but the real point of tidy work is technical.

A clean installation is faster to test and certify, easier to fault-find when something does go wrong, simpler to extend when the building grows, and far safer for the next engineer who opens the panel. It is also the clearest signal a building owner has that the rest of the job has been done to the same standard.

Tidy work is one of the things our clients consistently mention back to us, and it is one of our non-negotiables on every site we run. Not because the photo will look nice, although it usually does, but because the building deserves an installation that will still make sense in ten years.

Planning a commercial or industrial electrical project? It is worth setting that standard from day one.

When a commercial space needs to work harder, the electrical setup usually has to change with it.

We recently carried out a fit-out for Salts Mill in Saltaire. The brief was to split one area into two self-contained units, and to do it on a tight one week programme so the space could be brought back into use quickly. Swipe through for the detail.

A one week turnaround on a job like this comes down to planning. Order the right materials early, sequence the work properly, and keep the client informed at every stage.

If you are reconfiguring a commercial space and need the electrical work delivered to a deadline, get in touch on 01422 356222 for a site survey.

Choosing an electrical contractor for a commercial or new build project is a decision you live with long after the final invoice.

The right contractor keeps a project on programme, on budget and compliant. The wrong one costs you in delays, snagging and awkward conversations.

This carousel covers five questions worth asking before you appoint anyone, whether it is a new build development, an industrial retrofit or a public sector upgrade. None of them are technical. All of them tell you a lot about how a job will actually run.

What would you add to this list? If you have appointed contractors before, your experience is worth sharing in the comments.

Today is International Electricians Day, so it felt right to put our team front and centre.

Behind every tidy distribution board and every panel of solar on a roof, there is a team.

Green View Projects has grown from local roots into an electrical and renewables contractor trusted on commercial, industrial and public sector sites across West Yorkshire.

What hasn’t changed, is the people side of it. The same engineers, the same standards, the same care taken to leave a site as tidy as we found it.

Our team is City and Guilds qualified, DBS checked for the schools and public buildings we work in, and backed by NICEIC, NAPIT, MCS and RECC accreditation. But credentials only tell you half the story. The other half is showing up when we say we will, communicating clearly, and treating a client's site and time with respect.

It is skilled, careful work that keeps buildings safe, powered and running, and a lot of it goes unseen. So to our engineers, and to electricians everywhere: thank you for the work you do.

If you have followed Green View Projects for a while, you will notice our feed looking a little different from here on.

We are an electrical and renewables contractor based in West Yorkshire, and our focus is firmly on commercial, industrial and public sector work. New build developments, commercial fit-outs, industrial retrofits, solar PV, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure. That is where our team does its best work.

So over the coming months you will see more from live projects, more on the technical decisions behind a good installation, and more straight talking on compliance, timelines and what reliable delivery actually looks like.

The team, the accreditations and the standards stay exactly the same. The focus is just sharper.

If you are a developer, facilities manager, estates lead or energy lead planning electrical or renewable work, get in touch on 01422 356222 for a site survey.

Public sector estates are under real pressure to cut energy costs and carbon, and rooftop solar is one of the most straightforward ways to do both.

This carousel walks through our commercial solar PV installation at Huddersfield Civic Centre, from the first roof survey to a working array generating clean power for the building. Swipe through for the brief, the install and the outcome.

A few things that make commercial solar work on a public building: an honest roof and structural assessment up front, a system sized to the building's actual demand rather than the roof's maximum, and clear documentation for the estates and finance teams who have to sign it off.

Solar PV, battery storage and the right metering can take a noticeable share off a public sector energy bill, with a payback period that stands up to scrutiny.

If you manage a public sector estate or commercial property and want to understand what solar could deliver on your roof, get in touch on 01422 356222 for a site survey.

Most fleet EV charging projects start with the wrong question. "Which charge point do we want?" is rarely the bottleneck. The question that matters is whether your existing supply can handle the load you're about to put on it.

A handful of fast chargers can quietly add the equivalent of another small operation to your demand profile. If your incoming supply, switchgear, or consumer unit headroom can't take it, the charge point sits there waiting for a DNO upgrade that may take months and serious money.

Done properly, fleet EV planning starts with a load assessment, a supply review, and a conversation about smart charging and load management. The charge point comes last.

Where have you hit a supply wall on a fleet rollout? Drop your experiences in the comments.

Commercial fit-out complete at Radio Design, Salts Mill, all in a single week.

We split an existing area into two units, fitting a new distribution board so each has its own supply, new LED panel lighting and sockets throughout, and Paxton door access for security.

A tight turnaround, delivered to programme. The space now works harder than ever.

Commercial electrical, done properly.

Most industrial sites still associate battery storage with solar PV alone. That's leaving value on the table.

We've put together a quick guide to the five ways commercial battery storage actually earns its place on an industrial site, from peak shaving and time-of-use arbitrage through to solar self-consumption, grid resilience, and flexibility market revenue.

Looking at battery storage for an industrial or commercial site in West Yorkshire? Get in touch on 01422 356222, and we'll model what makes sense for your operation.

A wall, some cars, and a cable run that did not want to cooperate.

This wall kept getting clipped by passing cars, so we fitted a new light to improve visibility at the end of it. The challenge was the cable run back to the distribution board, through underground ducting jammed with debris.

Perseverance paid off. We cleared the run and had it done in half a day.

The light is in and the wall can finally catch a break.
