We’re thrilled to announce the successful completion of our risk assessment for the existing use of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) panels in seven retail stores across Exmouth. This thorough assessment was conducted by our excellent engineers, Lloyd Robinson (Associate Director), and Jean Dargham (Structural Engineer).

What is RAAC and Why is it Risky? RAAC, commonly used in construction from the 1950s to the 1980s, is a lightweight, precast concrete material. Despite its advantages, RAAC is prone to structural weaknesses over time, leading to potential safety risks. Its susceptibility to moisture and a higher likelihood of cracking can compromise the integrity of buildings, necessitating thorough inspections and assessments.

Our detailed evaluation focused on identifying and addressing any potential risks associated with RAAC panels to ensure the safety, compliance, and operational efficiency of the buildings.

By proactively managing these risks, we've helped safeguard the buildings' future and support their ongoing functionality. Here’s to a safer and more resilient structure!

Project Highlights:

✅ Thorough Site Analysis: We conducted an in-depth evaluation of the site, specifically inspecting the existing RAAC panels and identifying potential environmental, structural, and operational risks.

✅ Regulatory Compliance: Ensured full adherence to the latest safety standards and regulations, preventing legal and financial pitfalls.

✅ Proactive Planning: Developed and implemented strategic mitigation plans that addressed potential issues with the RAAC panels before they arose.

In the dynamic world of construction, anticipating and managing risks is paramount to ensuring the success of every project. At Simon Bastone Associates, our comprehensive risk assessment services are designed to identify potential hazards before they become costly issues.

Our approach includes:

✅Thorough Site Analysis: Identifying environmental, structural, and operational risks.

✅Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all projects meet the latest safety standards and regulations.

✅Proactive Planning: Developing strategies to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.

✅Continual Monitoring: Keeping a close eye on project progress to adjust plans as needed.

By partnering with us, you’re not just managing risks – you’re safeguarding your project's success and enhancing its efficiency. Let's build a safer, smarter future together.
