How long does it take to get your money back with solar panels?

There are obviously a lot of variables involved, such as:

✅ The price you pay for electricity
✅ The future price of electricity (higher prices = bigger savings)
✅ How big your roof/available land is
✅ The orientation and pitch of the roof
✅ Whether you're adding battery storage

However, we've found a 3-6 year payback period is very achievable.

There are also various funding options available depending on your business' circumstances. Most businesses fund the system themselves, but for others options such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or Asset Finance might work better.

An article on the Business Green site caught our eye yesterday.

Solar has saved Europe an estimated $40bn since the start of the Iran war started, driving energy prices higher and higher.

We've definitely noticed the same with our commercial clients - their PV solar and battery storage systems have helped insulate them from volatile and increasingly unpredictable electricity prices. The more prices rise, the more they save, and the more valuable their solar becomes.

We're still really proud of this 1.73MWp solar PV installation we did for Numatic, maker of the famous Henry vacuum cleaner earlier this year.

This was the most recent system we installed for Numatic (the first was back in 2013), and we used AIKO high-efficiency panels and Sigenergy hybrid inverters to build a PV array that generates enough electricity to manufacture 500,000 Henry's every year!

Today we're looking back at this installation we did for Boscastle Farm Shop down in Cornwall - what a stunning location!

Solar is a great option for farm shops and similar businesses - they often have a large, unshaded roof, and can greatly benefit from Solar PV and battery storage due to their high usage during the day. Keeping food chilled or frozen, plus running air conditioning to keep the temperature indoors pleasant, can significantly increase demand, especially during a heatwave like we saw this year.

Solar panels generate more electricity when the sun is out, so they're the perfect solution to cover the increased demand that comes along with hot, sunny weather.
