The City of London Corporation's award-winning Women Pivoting to Digital Taskforce is launching Turn to Tech: The Digital Career Change Course, a new, free and flexible online course designed to help mid-career women explore where their existing skills and experience could take them in a digital role.

Binniesโ€™ continued commitment to returners demonstrates the value of recognising the skills, experience and expertise professionals bring to the workplace, regardless of time away from their careers.

Natalie Desty, Director and Founder of STEM Returners, said: โ€œWe know there is a need for qualified, skilled people across the engineering and utilities sectors. However, people with a career break are overlooked due to unconscious bias in the recruitment process. A career break should not mean a career end. The 12-week paid programme is designed to provide a supported route back into STEM, offering participants:

In this role, youโ€™ll work closely with colleagues across our projects, providing expert advice and practical support to help maintain safe, healthy and environmentally responsible working environments.

This programme in partnership with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure has been designed to support people who have had a career break or are trying to transfer their skills in to a new sector or one they used to work in. We know that any gap in work experience or a move away from a sector or skill set makes it very hard to return or join through standard recruitment channels.

The roles in this programme run on a 12 week paid placement with a view to securing a permanent role at the end of that period. Although itโ€™s not guaranteed, 96% of our candidates who join a STEM Returners programme go on to secure permanent roles with their host organisation.

As a candidate working with STEM Returners you have access to free CV writing and Interview coaching and if you are successful in securing the role youโ€™ll get access to coaching and mentoring programme to help you thrive in the role.
