Our systems can be tailored to different species, including invasive carp, salmon and eels, controlling their movement with sound projector arrays, high-intensity lights, and other novel developments.

The company’s process begins with a detailed analysis of the environment and client requirements, followed by the development of a unique design that accounts for individual species and the wider ecosystem.

1997 was our first major international installation: Doel Nuclear Power Station in Belgium, deflecting estuarine fish from its cooling water intake. We used sound projectors, signal generators and amplifiers. This protected herring, sprat, bass and gobies.

Between 2013 and 2015 we were involved with our first project in China, at Dalian liquefied natural gas plant.

The brief was to deflect estuarine fish away from a cooling water intake. We used sound projectors and light rings to do this - protecting greening and black porgy.

In 2011 we undertook a project at Pembroke Power Station to deflect estuarine fish and guide salmon from its cooling and hydro intakes.

We used sound projectors, amplifiers and light to do this. Resulting in the protection of salmon smolt, herring, sprat and the general fish population.

Acoustic and light based behavioural systems are more effective than physical barrier for fish. It means waterways can remain navigable. Fish may also need to be diverted from large flows of water, where debris could damage screens.

Our continued investment in research and development ensures that these systems remain at the cutting edge of technology and scientific evidence.
