Project Update: Gosport Police Station 🔺

Our blog team recently visited Gosport Police Station for a first look inside, where our multi-million-pound refurbishment is now underway.

Having stood empty for over eight years, the building will be transformed into a modern community policing hub, with a new reception and front counter, interview rooms and improved facilities for officers and staff.

The team is currently preparing for roof works to make the building watertight, ahead of reconfiguring the internal spaces.

Watch our first video blog for a look around and an introduction to the project!

Hear from Senior Site Manager Craig Thompson as he explains the safety line system installed on the building’s distinctive sloping roof, ahead of the upcoming green roof installation.

The safety system forms part of the measures in place to help our team work safely at height, ready for the next stage of works to get underway soon. 🌱

We’re pleased to announce the successful completion of the refurbishment of Tringham House for our valued client, University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. 🔺

The project involved the fit-out of an existing office building to create modern, functional accommodation for staff relocating from Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Across the ground, first and second floors, we delivered a range of layout alterations, upgraded electrical provision and improved amenities to support the new open-plan office areas. The completed refurbishment covers approximately 2,402m, with the third floor remaining occupied by existing tenants throughout the works.

This marks our third successfully delivered project for University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, continuing a valued relationship that we are incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to our client for once again placing their trust in Amiri. Finally, congratulations to our project team and everyone who played a part in delivering the refurbishment of Tringham House.

Construction work is underway at Gosport Police Station! 🚧

Amiri is proud to have started on site, delivering a multi-million-pound refurbishment on behalf of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

Our team will refurbish and modernise the prominent South Street building, which has stood empty and unfit for purpose for more than eight years, creating a modern, high-quality police station.

Once complete, the station is expected to accommodate key local policing teams, including Neighbourhood Policing, CID and District Policing, alongside a public front counter and interview rooms.

As a Fareham-based contractor, we are particularly proud to be delivering such an important project in our local area. We look forward to working collaboratively with the wider project team and our trusted supply chain partners to create a station that supports officers, staff and the local community. 🔺

Rallying Together for a Great Cause 🎾

The Amiri team recently took part in the Kingsbridge South Coast Charity Padel Tournament at PadelStars UK Southampton, and it was a fantastic day both on and off the court.

A big thank you to Harvey Dyson MRICS and George Jewell MRICS from Gleeds, along with Glenn Lickman from Encompass Geospatial Ltd, for joining forces with Team Amiri. 🔺

Most importantly, the event raised more than £8,000 through donations and raffle ticket sales. Every penny will go to Chichester District Foodbank, helping to support local families in need.

A sincere thank you to the Kingsbridge team for organising such a successful event and bringing people together in support of an important local cause. We’re proud to have been part of it and are already looking forward to next year. 👏☀️🏆

We’re proud to showcase the completed photos from Bartlett Arboretum – a truly unique project that reflects innovation, sustainability and craftsmanship. 🔺

Delivered for Bartlett Tree Experts, this landmark development provides almost 800m² of specialist laboratory, research and office accommodation, creating the UK’s first Scientific Research Arboretum in Spencers Wood, near Reading. 🌳

Designed as three distinct buildings connected by both an open timber colonnade and an enclosed glazed glulam timber link corridor, the scheme demonstrates how sustainable construction and outstanding architecture can work hand in hand. Constructed using a Passivhaus-style SIPS timber structural system, timber and zinc cladding, steel screw pile foundations and steel support ring frames, every element was carefully considered to seamlessly integrate the buildings within the 50 acre site and deliver long-term performance and environmental responsibility. 🌱

Inside, the buildings feature exposed glulam beams, impressive double-height spaces and high-quality finishes. Externally, extensive landscaping, access roads, pathways and walkways complete a campus designed to inspire research, collaboration and innovation.

The building is a celebration of timber as a construction solution, showcasing the importance of trees and the vital research that helps us better understand their environmental, human and structural benefits. It will have a lasting positive impact by supporting scientific research, education and sustainable development for years to come. At Amiri, we’re honoured to have delivered this scheme. Achievements like this are only possible through the expertise, dedication and teamwork of everyone involved.

A huge thank you to our client, Bartlett Tree Experts, together with the entire design team, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and specialists for their trust, commitment and shared vision throughout. Your collective expertise has been instrumental in bringing this exceptional scheme to life. Finally, congratulations and thank you to our project team and everyone who played a part in delivering Bartlett Arboretum.
