This is the same style of garden obelisk - one freshly made in its original bare steel finish, and the other after weathering naturally to develop that beautiful, warm rusty patina.

When it leaves our Dorset workshop, it’s clean, bright and silver. Then, once it finds its place in your garden, the weather gets to work.

Slowly, the surface changes. The silver disappears, the rust develops and every obelisk takes on its own unique character 🤎

Beautiful when it’s new. Even better with time.

It's never quite 9 to 5 around here, but Dolly was absolutely the soundtrack of choice this week 🦋.

So here's one of our obelisks being made from start to finish in the Firefly workshop:

✨ Measure // Cut // Bend // Weld // Repeat
.. and the bit I love the most? Knowing this will sit in someone's garden, supporting a plant brimming with flowers they have proudly grown and love.

I absolutely love it when customers visit the workshop and I get to hear about your plants and garden plans 🌿

Amanda was looking for a support for her David Austin ‘Strawberry Hill’ and I am a huge David Austin fan. I even have a Strawberry Hill of my own!

So after a lovely natter, Amanda opted for our tower obelisk and doesn’t it look fab all planted up beautifully.

This time next year the rose will be double, if not triple, the size and superbly supported and protected to stay looking it’s absolute best!

YES! YES! YES! to the rain today.... doesn't it feel amazing 🤩 I don't even care that this curly-haired girl is gonna be a ball of frizz by this evening. IT'S RAINING! It also means that our latest batch of super-duper plant & shrub supports will start to develop that lovely rusty patina you all love 🤎.

Happy Monday, friends. What a joy the week is starting out already! A 7am walk to the veggie garden (in my veggie PJ’s, obvs 🤣) to pick homegrown, organic salad veggies for lunch today.

LOVE! LOVE!! LOVE!!!

With cooler temps - and even rain this week - I am sooo excited to be getting out here, in my happy place, a whole lot more!

I love these photos Cheryl has sent me of her gorgeous garden - featuring our 2m solid steel obelisk and our galvanised dragonfly rain catcher 🌿

When Cheryl visited the workshop on Friday, she was only coming to collect the obelisk, but fell in love with the rain catcher, too. With her birthday next month, she decided to treat herself!

Still a heatwave. Still welding 😂
