Hydram is recruiting for a range of roles across our busy sheet metal manufacturing facility in Chilton, County Durham.

We currently have opportunities across several areas, including:

• MIG Welder Fabricators
• Punch/Laser Operators
• Press Brake Setters
• Robot Operators
• Assembly Operatives

We’re looking for reliable, safety conscious people with experience in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, sheet metal or similar production environments.

Our work is varied, fast-paced and quality focused, supporting customers across a wide range of industries.

Depending on the role, experience may include:

• Working from engineering drawings
• Welding and fabrication
• CNC laser or punch operation
• Press brake setting and operating
• Robot welding or automated production equipment
• Paint plant or finishing processes
• Assembly work in a manufacturing environment

👨‍🏭 We’re hiring experienced MIG Welder Fabricators

Join Hydram’s manufacturing team at our 135,000 sq ft facility in Chilton, County Durham.

We’re looking for confident MIG welders who can work accurately from engineering drawings and interpret weld symbols.

The varied work includes:
• Mild steel from 0.9mm to 20mm
• Stainless steel from 1mm to 3mm
• Freehand fabrication
• Working with jigs and fixtures

Applicants should have at least 12 months’ welding and fabrication experience within a sheet metal or similar manufacturing environment. The role will predominantly involve working with mild steel.

Two-shift rotation:
Early shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–2:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–12:30pm
Back shift: Monday–Thursday, 2:30pm–11:00pm; Friday, 12:30pm–7:00pm

We’ve recently added a 9 sqm collaborative robot welding cell at our Chilton facility, further strengthening our automated welding capability.

The new cobot brings increased flexibility, repeatability, and process control, supporting consistent, high-quality fabrication while complementing the skills of our welding team.
